Guinness Pie

D'Lish Dishes

  This is a great dish to fill up your man ... and the rest of the family!

It is also ideal to freeze.  Smaller pies can be made in foil plates and frozen for later use.

D'Lish Dishes - Guinness Pie
Serves: 8 adults
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes + 30 minutes
Cost: $3.00 per serve


Ingredients:

Guinness Pie1 kilo diced beef
4 slices bacon

2 onions chopped
200g mushrooms
3 carrots
6 small potatoes
40g french onion soup
30 ml olive oil
1 can Guinness beer
Mixed salad leaves
4 cherry tomatoes

Utensils:

Chopping Board
Sharp knife
Bowl
Frypan
Pie dish
Serving Plate

  1. Place french onion soup mix in plastic bag

  2. Place diced meat in bag and shake to coat

  3. Cook chopped onions in oil until transparent

  4. Add diced bacon and cook till brown

  5. Add chopped potatoes, carrots and mushrooms

  6. Add can of Guinness

  7. Bring to boil, reduce and simmer 30 minutes

  8. Add meat mixture to pie plate

  9. Top with 1 sheet of puff pastry

  10. Decorate - to make fancy edges, cut a sheet of puff pastry in to 12 strips.  Take 3 at a time and plait them together.  Use to decorate pie edge.

  11. Serve pie with fresh tossed garden salad
